Welcome to Rivendell Wanderer!
Or The Rivendell Wanderer? Eh, same thing.

I’ve been a fan of Tolkien and his work for quite some time. Up until recently, however, it has been as a quiet fan. Generally, I just read my books, watched the films (and Rings of Power), and ultimately appreciated from afar. However, after discovering a certain podcast and beginning to actively engage on Twitter, I’ve felt the need to be, well, louder about my love of Tolkien.
So here we are.
What am I planning to do?
Run away screaming, maybe, turns out making a website is not the same as running a free WordPress blog.
Wait, what I meant to say was:
I’ll end up sharing what brought me to Tolkien in the first place, essays I have written or have yet to write, thoughts on adaptations, and reviews on books about Tolkien. I’m also planning to dive into my journey through the wider Legendarium. At present, I don’t intend to do an end-to-end walkthrough analysis of Lord of the Rings or any other work, just looking at individual pieces as they attract me, but I do reserve the right to change my mind and wander through it.
Just as I’ll wander through designing this site, apparently!
My love of Tolkien has won against the anxiety and sheer terror accompanying the decision to create this site, of not finding my place among content creators in the Tolkien fandom, and, as you might expect, a healthy dose of imposter syndrome. I’m still so incredibly anxious as I write this, but hey:
“Forth, and fear no darkness!”
